In this tutorial, you will learn how to view page breaks in Google Sheets.
With all the complexity of spreadsheet data, printing from Google Sheets can be challenging. One frequent problem when printing spreadsheets is that data that should stay together gets split between pages, rendering printed documents less readable and professional. This is where custom page breaks come in to help users gain control over how Google Sheets prints
Unfortunately, Google hasn’t yet implemented a feature to view page breaks while editing in Google Sheets like some other spreadsheets have, but it is possible to view and edit page breaks nonetheless
View and Edit Custom Page Breaks
Follow these steps to view and edit custom page breaks in Google Sheets:
Open the File menu and select Print
The Print Settings will open. If the spreadsheet contains no custom page breaks, you will see an option to SET CUSTOM PAGE BREAKS in the sidebar. Click on it to start editing the page breaks
If the spreadsheet already contains page breaks, you’ll see the Custom Page Breaks toggle. Click on Edit beside it
Dotted blue lines will appear on the preview showing where the page breaks currently are. Click and drag on the page breaks to move them
Scroll down through the preview and set all desired page breaks. Custom page breaks will turn solid blue
Click Confirm Breaks when you’re done editing, then Next on the next screen and the custom page breaks will be saved
