How To Unmerge Cells In Google Sheets
Sometimes when you’re working in Google Sheets you’ll come across cells that have been merged that you need to unmerge.
It will look something like this:
Fortunately, unmerging cells in Google Sheets is simple. Just follow these steps:
Step 1
Select the merged cell or cells you want to unmerge. You can select an entire range that includes all the merged cells you want to unmerge
Step 2
In the toolbar, click on the small down arrow beside the Merge Cells icon to open the merge cells menu
Step 3
In the merge cells menu, click on the last option: Unmerge
Step 4
All merged cells in the selected range will be unmerged.
Note that any formatting that was applied to the merged cells will be applied to all the cells that were merged together even after they are split
