In this tutorial, you will learn how to strikethrough on google sheets.
Strikethrough is a useful tool for denoting completed tasks or outdated information, among other uses. Taking advantage of strikethrough in Google Sheets can really speed up workflows by showing users information is old or outdated without having to remove it from the spreadsheet entirely. Strikethrough is quick and easy to use in Google Sheets. Just follow these steps.
Strikethrough a Cell
To add strikethrough to all the text in a cell:
Select the cell
Click on the Strikethrough icon in the formatting toolbar
The cell will be formatted in strikethrough
You can also the shortcut keys: ALT+SHIFT+5 on Windows or OPTION+SHIFT+5 on Mac
Strikethrough a Portion of a Cell
If you want to format only a portion of the text in the cell as strikethrough, the process is also easy using the keyboard shortcut:
Double click the cell then click and drag across the portion of the text you want to strike out to select it
With the text still selected, click the strikethrough icon in the toolbar and the selection will be formatted as strikethrough. You can also use the shortcut keys from Step 4 above.
