Step 1

First, open the Google Docs document you want to see the edit history of.

Click on the Version history button on the top of the page.

Alternatively, you can select File > Version history > See version history. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Shift+H.

Step 3

Google Docs will open a new view where you can see the different versions of your document. Click on a version to see the changes made for that version.

Text will be highlighted a specific color depending on who made the changes. This feature will give you a good idea of which collaborator made specific changes at a certain time.

Step 4

If you want to restore a document to a prior version, click on the Restore this version option.

Alternatively, you can create a copy of the prior version to keep the current version intact. To do this, click on the Make a copy option.
