How to Flip and Rotate Text in Google Docs
Here’s our step-by-step guide on how to flip and rotate text in Google Docs.
Step 1
First, open the document where you want to add rotated text.

Step 2
Select Insert > Drawing > New to create a new drawing.

The Drawing tool allows users to add shapes and text in any orientation they wish. In this case, we’ll simply use the tool to modify the orientation of our text.
Step 3
In the pop-up window, click on the Text box tool.

Step 4
Draw a textbox on the provided blank canvas. Write your text in the textbox.

In this example, we’ll simply type the words “SAMPLE TEXT”.
Step 5
Use your cursor to drag the circular marker. Dragging the market to the right will rotate the textbox in a clockwise direction.

Keep dragging the marker until your textbox is rotated to your desired position.

Step 6
Click the Save and Close button on the top-right of the Drawing pop-up menu.

Step 7
The rotated text should now be inserted into your current document.

The main drawback of this approach is that the rotated text is not considered normal text and cannot be selected or formatted outside the Drawing tool.
Step 8
Another way to rotate text is by converting an entire page to landscape mode. Doing so will allow you to print out text at a 90-degree angle from the default portrait mode. To do this, select the text in the page you want to rotate.

Right-click on the selection and click Change page to landscape.

the current page should now be rotated into landscape mode.
