If you want to remove only cell borders and maintain all other formatting, follow these steps:
Step 1
Select the cells you want to remove the borders from
Step 2
Click on the Borders icon in the toolbar and choose the Clear Borders icon, which is a grid with all dotted lines
Step 3
All borders on any cell in the selection will be removed
