How to Create a Venn Diagram in Google Docs
Here’s our step-by-step guide on how to create a Venn diagram in Google Docs.
Step 1
First, open a new blank Google Docs document.
Step 2
We’ll add a Venn diagram to our document using the built-in Drawing tool. We can access the tool by clicking Insert > Drawing > New.
The Drawing dialog box will now appear over the current document.
Step 3
Start by finding the circle shape in the Shapes options.
Use your cursor to draw two equally-sized circles in the canvas.
Ensure that the two circles are aligned horizontally and have enough overlap to fit text in.
Step 4
Next, use the Text box tool to add text to each area of the Venn diagram.
In our sample Venn diagram, we’ll add descriptions that fit dogs only, cats only, and both dogs and cats. For example, both cats and dogs are considered great companions so we’ll add this description in the overlapping area. Meanwhile, the description that dogs bark or that cats like to climb are placed within their respective circles but outside the overlapping area.
We’ll use the Text box tool again to add labels to each circle in our Venn diagram.
Step 5
Click on Save and Close to add the Venn diagram drawing to your document.
You can choose to resize and reposition the drawing as needed.
