How To Make A Smooth Line Chart In Google Sheets
With Google Sheets, you can easily create your line chart without having to master all of the intricacies that may have deterred you from getting started in the first place.
Line graphs have a wide range of applications, and it is undoubtedly one of the most significant charts for displaying data trends over time.
We can use the line chart when we want to display the trend of a specific stock throughout five years, track your business revenue during the year, or the number of new subscribers you have on your social media.
However, do note that smooth line charts are regarded as less accurate compared to a normal line graph as it smoothes out the data.
Once you are ready, we can get started by using real-life scenarios to help you understand how to create smooth line charts in Google Sheets.
Creating a Smooth Line Chart
Before we begin we will need a group of data to be used to create the smooth line chart.
Step 1
Make sure your group of data is displayed in a clean and tidy manner. This will help us to create a smooth line chart easily.

Step 2
Select the entire data cell, choose Insert, and select Chart.

Step 3
By default, Google Sheet will use the selected group of data to generate a line chart. You can easily change it to a smooth line chart by selecting it at the Chart editor.

Step 4
Now, you can customize the smooth line chart to your preference. We will change the chart title to ‘Weather for January’ for a better representation of the line chart. Also, to emphasize the chart title, we will change the text color to black, bold it, and also align it to the center.

Step 5
Once you are done editing and customizing the smooth line chart, it will look something like this.

Summary
That’s all there is to it. You are welcome to copy the example spreadsheet below to see how it is done. The most crucial lesson is to enjoy yourself while doing it.
