Google Docs makes it easy to insert a video from YouTube into your document with just a few clicks. Google Docs also allows you to use the Drawing tool to add clickable thumbnails within your document.

How to Add a Video to Google Docs
Here’s our step-by-step guide on how to add a video to Google Docs.
First, open the document where you want to insert a video
We’ll start by adding a hyperlink to an existing video.
Type the text you want to display as a link.
Right-click on the selected text and click Insert link. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+K.
Paste the video you want to link to into the provided textbox. Click on Apply to proceed.
The link should now display a thumbnail of the video when selected.
The user can click on the link to watch the video in full.
Another way to insert a video is through the Drawing tool and Google Slides.
First, open a blank Google Slides document.
In the Insert menu, click on the Video option.
You can choose a video uploaded in your Google Drive.
You can also refer to an existing YouTube video by providing its URL.
Insert the video into your Google Slides document. You may adjust the start and end time of the video and whether you want to mute the audio from your video.
Select the video element in your slide and use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C to copy the element.
In your Google Docs document, click the options Insert > Drawing > New.
Hit Ctrl+V to paste the copied video from Google Slides.
Click Save and Close to add the drawing to the document.
The thumbnail of the video should now appear in the document.
Double-click on the image to access the video through the Drawing tool.

First, head to your desired Youtube video and copy the URL to your clipboard.
Paste the URL into your Google Docs document.
Click the link once and select the Open preview option.
You should now be able to watch the video as a preview within your Google Docs application.
Click on the Open in new tab button to access the original video in a separate tab.
