How to Create a Quadrant Chart in Google Sheets
Quick Navigation
Bubble charts with a background divided into four equal portions are known as quadrant charts.
Quadrant charts are excellent for charting data with three measures on an X-axis, a Y-axis, and a bubble size that symbolizes the third measure’s value.
A quadrant chart is a good data visualization option for showing data that ranges in opposite directions, whether positive to negative, east to west, or left to right.
Businesses frequently use a quadrant chart to plot positive and negative experiences, events, or feedback to help analyze the likelihood of success or identify areas for growth.
Once you are ready, we can get started by using real-life scenarios to help you understand how to create quadrant charts in Google Sheets.
Creating a Quadrant Chart
Before we begin we will need a group of data to be used to create the quadrant chart.
Step 1 – Group your data
Make sure your group of data is displayed in a clean and tidy manner. This will help us to create the quadrant chart easily.

Step 2 – Insert a quadrant chart
Select the entire data cell, choose Insert, and select Chart.

By default, Google Sheet will use the selected group of data to generate a line chart.
Simply change the chart to a scatter chart in the Chart Editor.

Step 3 – Customise
Now, you can customize the quadrant chart to your preference. We will change the chart title to ‘Quadrant Chart’ for a better representation of the quadrant chart. Also, to emphasize the chart title, we will change the text color to black, bold it, and also align it to the center.

Step 5
We can also insert a trendline to indicate the trend of this set of data. Simply go to Series and select Trendline. We will make it red color as well.

Step 6
Once you are done editing and customizing the quadrant chart, it will look something like this.

Summary
That’s all there is to it. You are welcome to copy the example spreadsheet below to see how it is done. The most crucial lesson is to enjoy yourself while doing it.
