How To Clear Filter In Google Sheets
Quick Navigation
Filtering data in Google Sheets can be a great way to display the most important information to the user. However, you may want to remove filters because you want to either try a new filter or want to see the original data.
Fortunately, you can quickly clear all of your filters with just a few clicks. In this guide, we will show you how to toggle off filters in Google Sheets. We’ll also explain how to clear a single filter without removing the filter options present in the range.
How To Unfilter a Range In Google Sheets
Here’s how to unfilter a range in Google Sheets.
Step 1
Identify the range in the spreadsheet that contains a filter. Active filters will show a filled funnel icon next to the column header of the given field.

Click on this icon to access the filter options.
Step 2
In the filter options context menu, click on the Select all option. This will remove any filtering that has been set on the current column.

Click on OK to proceed.
Step 3
The column filter should now be removed. Proceed to perform the same steps to remove other active filters in other columns of the range

Step 4
Another way to clear the filter is to remove the filters from the range altogether.

To do this, first select the entire range that has a filter applied to it.
Step 5
Click on the Filter icon in the toolbar. If the currently-selected range has a filter already, this action will toggle off the filter.

Step 6
Your range should no longer have a filter.

If your workflow involves adding and removing filters often, you may want to create a filter view instead. Users can create as many filter views as needed while still keeping the original data intact and unfiltered.
