Circling something can be a great way to draw attention to a particular point in your document. In Google Docs, you can easily circle a word or a phrase with just a few clicks.
Google Docs includes a Drawing tool which allows you to insert transparent circle shapes with a particular border color. We can use this tool to encircle elements in our document.

How to Encircle in Google Docs
Here’s our step-by-step guide on how to encircle in Google Docs.
Open the document with the word or phrase you want to encircle.
Click on Insert > Drawing > New to access the Drawing tool.
Click on the Shapes icon in the toolbar and select the Oval shape.
Use your cursor to draw a elongated oval shape on the provided blank canvas.
While the shape is still selected, click on the background color icon and set the color to Transparent.
Click the border color icon and select your preferred border color.
You can also choose the border width of your circle shape.
Click on the Save and Close button to add the shape to your document.
Select the shape and set the text wrapping option to ‘In front of text’.
Use your cursor to drag the circle to the desired word or phrase you want to encircle/
You can use your cursor to resize the shape to fit more words to encircle.
