How To Change Page Size In Google Docs
Google Docs makes it incredibly easy to create and format documents. One of the features it offers is the ability to adjust the page size of your document. This can be helpful if you need to print your document, or if you are working with a specific page size requirement. By default, Google Docs documents use the Letter paper size (8.5” x 11”) but a variety of other page sizes are available including A4 and Legal.
In this guide, we will show you how to change the page size in Google Docs. We will also cover how to use the Page Sizer add-on to set custom page sizes for your document.
How to Adjust Page Size in Google Docs
Here’s our step-by-step guide on how to adjust page size in Google Docs.
Step 1
First, open the document you want to change the page size of.

Step 2
In the File menu, click the Page setup option.

Step 3
In the Page setup dialog box, click on the Paper size option to reveal a dropdown menu of paper size options.

Step 4
Select your desired paper size from the dropdown menu.

In this example, we’ll choose the A5 paper size.

Click on OK to proceed.
Step 5
Your document should now be updated to fit the selected paper size. Depending on what paper size you choose, you may experience an increase or decrease in the number of pages.

This is because changing the paper size will not affect any existing spacing or text formatting options.
Step 6
If your desired page size does not appear in the dropdown list earlier, we can use a custom add-on to create your own custom page size.
First, click on Extensions > Add-ons > Get add-ons to access the Google Workspace Marketplace where you can search and download add-ons.

Search and install the Page Sizer add-on for Google Docs. This third-party add-on will allow you to set custom page sizes for your documents.

Step 7
You’ll be able to access the add-on by clicking Extensions > Page Sizer > Set page size…

Use the width and height textboxes to select your custom dimensions. Click on Apply to proceed.

Your document should now be updated to the custom dimensions.
