How To Change Language On Google Docs
Google Docs is a powerful and versatile application for creating and sharing text documents. It supports multiple languages, which makes it easier to collaborate with people from different countries.
If you need to change the language of your Google Docs document, there are several methods to do this. For spellchecking and grammar tools, you’ll need to update your document’s language to ensure that the spellchecker tools are using the right language for your text. Google Docs also comes with a built-in translator tool you can use to translate entire documents into other languages. Finally, we can change the language used for the application itself, which can be useful if you’re more comfortable working in another language.
In this guide, we will explain how to change the language used in Google Docs for various purposes.
How to Switch Languages in Google Docs
Here’s our step-by-step guide on how to switch languages in Google Docs.
First, open a Google Docs document where you want to write in another language.
Select File > Language and click on the language you want to change to.
Select Tools > Spelling and grammar > Spelling and grammar check to analyze for spelling issues in your document. You may also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+X.
Google Docs will highlight text that may have been mispelled in the chosen language.
If you wish to translate text instead, Google Docs comes with a built-in translator that you can use on your documents.
In the Tools menu, click Translate document.
Write down the new document title of your translated document as well as the language you want to translate the current document into. Click on Translate to proceed with creating the translated document.
