In this guide, we will show you how to access Google Docs from these different applications. We’ll also show you what URLs you should use to access the Google Docs homepage or for creating a new Google Docs document.
How to Open Google Docs
Here’s our step-by-step guide on how to open Google Docs.
First, visit Google Drive at https://drive.google.com.
Click on the New button and select Google Docs > Blank document.
Choosing this option will open a new tab containing your new Google Docs document.
You may also access the Google Docs homepage using the link https://docs.google.com/ . The Google Docs homepage will show various templates you can use as a starting point. This page also shows your most recently edited documents.
If you want to jump straight into a blank document, you can use the alternative link https://docs.new
You’ll also be able to access Google Docs through the Google Apps icon. This icon can be seen in the top-right corner of a variety of Google services such as Gmail or Google Calendar.
Clicking on the Google Apps button will reveal a pop-up containing various Google apps and services. Scroll down until you see the Docs icon.
Click on this icon to open the Google Docs application.
